SOUTH-AMERICAN DREAM
1.
Seven teens
Went on a trip
To South America
But the rhetoric, a
redundant old script,
All based upon dreams
Of wars, and hysterical
Massive long whips
Engraving their signs—
Through irregular lines—
On the limbs—and rips—
Till men and women
Could reach their freedom
From behind cold bars
To watch the speeches
Of wolves and leeches
On how free they are!
2.
On the other hand,
Right from the Left
The Savior does stand:
Posing high and deft
(Posing blind and deaf?)
On a throne called Bluff:
All painted in Red
All tainted and shredded
Half chain'd, half handcuff'd!
