Poem 7
Healing

1.
And the gates were opened…
Empty of whims
In trembling limbs
Without any strength
I followed the length
Of that lonely train track…
Step by step
As a walking ghost
Wanting the most
Just to go back home…
But I where should I go?
I belonged nowhere…

2.
“Madam, where do you live?”
I live in the fields and the fountains
In small villages in the mountains
In kingdoms, in rich castles
But I´m always chased away!
Sir, for so long I´ve been astray…
From the wrath of the king´s father
I had to run, and hide, and flee
From my home beyond the sea…

3.
“Well, so now you´re blessed!
My Lord, the Endless Knight
Who´s so generous and bright
Has let you return to your home
There in his own ancient land.
The place is a bit out of hand
For sure, a bit empty and dry
But there at least you can try
To have a place for yourself.”

4.
But Sir, that isn´t his site
It´s my land and my birthright!
I was born in that desert
He was born in the castle!
“Oh don´t give me a hassle!
Just take the gift and be gone!”

5.
I needed rest, I needed healing
So bedraggled and weeping
I prepared myself to go home...
