Abstract This final work emphasizes the importance of citizen involvement in the evaluation processes of public security policy in Candangolândia –DF- Brasil, as a revealing need of establishing new options for public management, through which relationships of mutual responsibility between society and government are enacted. One of conclusions of this work is to considerate that the best to the solutions to improve indices of crime and violence in urban centres is through a real participation on the part of society members to the elaboration of security plans an programs as well as determine action priorities from combined way with the government.
