Impede que tua vida quede cega,

E fecha os olhos ao deslumbramento,

Porquanto o vício e o ócio é um momento

Que a alma sempre em dor a Deus a nega...

Esquece-te daquele que te ofende,

E nunca o ódio alheio a alma te cinja,

E nunca de te odiar alguém se ufane.

Repara que o amor em Deus transcende,

E assim, o amor a outrem jamais finja

Que Deus em ti porá um amor imane...

And never hate you gird the soul of others,
