The Story of Stuff (texto em inglês)
I remember when I watch "the story of stuff" in the first period in Introduction of history studies. I liked very much and seen again made me remind some questions. I've seen other videos of the project and figured out that only with mobilization we can change things.
The revolution begins in the streets, but first intelligentsia influences the massa with her ideas. This worked with Enlightenment in French Revolution and the pre-revolucionary Russia.
The Story of Stuff project is important to make the mind of the people, but is not enough. I've had read in Facebook a post saying:"The only animal who tips a forest to make a pamphlet written to not destroy environment is human."
This is interesting because, even Annie talks against system, she is using it! To write this text I had to buy a tablet for Samsung, a company who explore human slavery. That's a paradox!
Once I saw "The East", a movie about an anarchist group whom attacks global enterprises. An agent infiltrates them and discovered that the house which they use to share things, make rituals and plans, is actually a old house for a rich family. And the Lider, who is not by accident part of this family (he talks to everyone that the house was invaded) is hidden things. That makes me questioning: What a damn an awarded by the system person rebels against it?
I have to say: The higher and middle classes don't "rebel" against nothing, this is a lower class function. The only thing the "embraced by the system" can do is to train the mind of the poor being the intelligentsia (or being a reactionary).
The East group don't starts a revolution, only sets the fire. The revolution only suppose to make happen when the population whose is fueled by a lake that is contaminate by an industry that they denounce, stop buying its products. (The group almost kill an executive of the company troughting him in the lake that is in a highly corrosive stage). People can't take a shower and brush they teeth!
Annie Leonard, like the East, is only sets the fire, the revolution mobilization only starts when her appeal gets to masses.
