Better Alone Than Badly Led!
I see shadows all around me,
Hidden faces trying to bound me,
I see the night’s embrace is near,
While the day fades, disappearing clear.
In solitude, I’ve found an ally,
Who wounds me with truths that don’t belie,
Far worse are those who stand close by,
And cut with falsehoods, masked in a lie.
I pity this heart of mine, forlorn,
So used to being utterly worn.
Yet as the saying wisely said:
Better Alone Than Badly Led!
I can’t endure deceitful ways,
Nor the false smiles some display.
Only truth, I truly hold dear,
It brings the happiness we revere.
I see shadows all around me,
Hidden faces trying to bound me,
I see the daylight start to hide,
While loneliness comes to confide.
I pity this heart of mine, forlorn,
So used to being utterly worn.
Yet as the saying wisely said:
Better Alone Than Badly Led!
