The Brazilian people wept with joy,

Bringing home the Jules Rimet Cup

 

It was there in Mexico where the feet of gold,

And in the bright spotlight King Pelé,

He scored the memorable header,

Triumphing the crowd on the Aztec lawn.

 

With a heroic leap and a strong punch in the air,

Pelé consecrated Brazil in the best football,

And all the placid green and yellow giant.

 

And the golden squad of Brazil continued,

With Gérson, Jairzinho and Carlos Alberto – Captain.

Lining up four goals in Italy.
