An Addiction

Even though,

I’ve ignored what could have been mine

I’ve realized I can never be yours,

I’m determined to move on

(I’m sure you’ve heard all these before)

but I’m hooked on you even more.

You’re the thirst

You’re the drug

I’m craving for your touch,

I’m addicted to you –

oh, if you only knew how much.

Each time I’m lost

I can’t sleep

I can’t breathe

You’ve taken over me completely.

As time passed me by,

I’ve tried to get back what’s mine

but I’ve realized I can never be yours,

I’m determined to move on

but I’m hooked on you even more.

And yet
