Kabul River – The river of my eternal emotions
If my heart broke in half
I wouldn't know who to give my heart to
With wounds and eternal marks in the eyes
Sobbing over a fair and beloved question
I would keep my big Kabul River
That took my scream several times.
Oh my great and mighty Kabul River
Knowing my sorrows and lamentations
In the middle of the bridge over the Kabul River
I cried and shed my tears
And I dreamed of having better days in life
Watching the boats come and go.
Marks left by thousands of Afghans
They symbolize the eternity of this swift Kabul River
In the homeland of Afghanistan there will only be peace
We will have no more brothers killed in war
And we will not give our wealth to the fire vultures
Much less our white mountains between valleys.
Our Afghan people are the nation's supreme villages
Among so many wars lived, they never fell
Our emotions are in three vertical stripes
Our ground is our pride of being Afghan
Land of all your sons with swords
It is love and peace carrying the Kabul River of Afghanistan.
