Shadow

There’s a shadow between us.

It’s not mine.

It’s not yours.

It’s a shadow of somebody else

who loves you,

although you say

your love is for me!

There’s a shadow between us

that tells a story of a romance

you got envolved,

although you always said

your heart was mine!

There’s a shadow between us

and it’s not like footprints

on the sand

that can disappear

when the water comes...

There will always be a shadow between us

‘cause you printed it in your heart,

And although you still affirm I am your love

my heart can’t forget

how much you insisted to say:

“there’s not friendship

between men and women...”

So you keep this shadow with you

but not between us!

Because I’m getting apart

of the story that was supposed

to be only mine and yours!
