The Best They Can

Some people walk in silence through the streets of nameless towns

Some people place small crosses at the curves of killing grounds

Some people will be left there torn and bleeding on the floor

And some people sleep at some other people's doors

Some people carry crosses and no one's there to lend a hand

And most people they just do the best they can

Most people will just do the best they can

Some people see the warm sun through the bars of prison cells

And some people were just cursed to be always by themselves

Some people fill with tears the eyes of the ones they dearly love

And some people's prayers are never to be heard

Some people's hearts are full of words that will be left unsaid

But most people will just do the best they can

Most people will just do the best

A broken man lay down his dreams to die

And a poet laughs and toasts his God above

A miracle begins but it's meant to be unseen

As the night fades into dawn

Sometimes a man will keep his feelings always in disguise

And some men will build their castles on foundations laid upon lies

Some prophets die in silence at midnight avenues

And some people just don't know what else to do

Some people have their reasons and no one else would understand

And most people will just do the best they can

Most people will just do the best they can

Most people will just do the best they can
