A INVASÃO DAS CIGARRINHAS NO TOCANTINS - THE INVASION OF A DIFFERENT KIND OF SPITTLEBUG IN BRAZIL

Com o início das chuvas na região de Gurupi – Tocantins, cerrado do norte brasileiro (baixa amazônia), impulsionou o aumento da população de um tipo diferente de cigarrinha-das-pastagens (Homóptera: Cercopidae). O aumento natural dos insetos nesta época do ano na região é comum, mas quando o número de certas espécies ultrapassa a normalidade, pode indicar um desequilíbrio do ecossistema. ---------------------------------------------------------- With the onset of the rains in the region of Tocantins, northern Brazil's cerrado (low amazonia), drove the increase in population of a different kind of Spittlebug (Homóptera: Cercopidae).
