The miracle cow
One day, a master of wisdom was walking through a forest with his disciple, when he saw a poor looking place in the distance and decided to do a brief visit. Along the way, he spoke to the apprentice about the importance of visits and the learning opportunities we also have with people we barely know.
Arriving at the site, he noticed the poverty of the place, without paving, the old wooden house and a little destroyed. The residents, a couple and three children, dressed in torn and dirty clothes. Then he approached the gentleman, apparently the father of the family, and asked:
- In this place there are no signs of trade and work. How do you and your family survive here?
To which you replied:
- My friend, we have a cow that gives us several liters of milk every day. A part of this product we sell or exchange in the neighboring city for other foodstuffs and the other part we produce cheese, curds, butter, etc., for our consumption, and thus we survive.
The sage thanked him for the information, contemplated the place for a few moments, then said goodbye and left.
Apprentice, take the cow, take it to the precipice ahead and push it, throw it down there. The young man widened his eyes in astonishment and questioned the master about the fact that the cow was the only means of survival for that family. But as he noticed the absolute silence of the master, he went to carry out the order. So he pushed the cow down the hill and saw it die. That scene was marked in the memory of that young man for a few years, and one fine day he decided to drop everything he had learned and go back to that same place and tell that family, ask for forgiveness and help them. So he did.
When he approached the place, he saw a very beautiful place, with flowering trees, all walled up, with a car in the garage and some children playing in the garden. He was sad and desperate, imagining that that family had to sell the place to survive. and, arriving there, he was soon received by a very friendly caretaker and asked about the family that had lived there for about four years and the caretaker replied:
- They still live here.
Amazed, he entered the house and saw that it was really the family he had visited before with the master. He praised the place and asked the lord:
-How did you improve this place and is it very well off?
The gentleman excitedly replied:
- We had a cow that fell off the cliff and died, from then on we had to do other things and develop skills that we didn't even know we had. Thus we have achieved the success that your eyes see now.
In this story we can see that if the poor cow had to be sacrificed, so that this unfortunate family could see, which they could not, because since they had the cow and its production, they did not bother to produce anything. But without the kitty they had to go to fight.
Maybe some of us have some crowdfunding, and this way we won't fight.
