My native land yesterday and today

My native land is Coimbra, a small town situated in the forest zone of Minas Gerais. Viçosa is the town near her.

When I was a child, I thought my town very beautiful, because it was surrounded by green mountains that stood out against the blue sky and between two mountains was a narrow street.

There was a square with a garden well cared, and a lot of rose bushes and a church painted in pink.

Every night the square of the church was full of people and the boys and girls walked in the garden because it was the place to flirt. But when the

Heard the whistle of train, the square was empty. The people went to the

Station to see pass the train .This happening was the great attractive of the town.

Today my town isn´t the same due to a high way that passed in the town

And the railroad finished. Then to pass a lot of bus, the green mountains are full of awful buildings; very small houses are demolished and in the place were built awful big houses. The streets were asphalted and the other paved.

In short the progress affected the attractions of the town .
