Bell Marque biography

O baiano Washington Bell Marques da Silva é cantor, compositor, multi-instrumentista, produtor e empresário brasileiro que atua no cenário artístico brasileiro como cantor de Axé.

História de Bell Marques

O cantor nasceu em 05 de setembro de 1952 na capital baiana no famoso Largo do Terreiro de Jesus. O cantor passou boa parte da infância e adolescência no Largo do Tororó e, desde muito cedo já tinha sua paixão voltada para música.

Aprendeu a tocar violão, guitarra, contra – baixo e demais instrumentos musicais. Começou a desenvolver seu lado cantor pouco a pouco, inclusive, fazendo ponta em uma banda chamada Os Elétrons onde se apresentou algumas vezes como tecladista e outras como vocalista.

Foi na década de 80 que entrou para a banda Scorpius que depois seria chamada Chiclete com Banana.

A banda inovou muito o Axé com a guitarra rítmica de Bell Marques e letras que faziam as pessoas “pipocarem” pulando e dançando seus sucessos. A primeira vez de Bell Marques em um trio elétrico foi em 1979 no histórico Trio Tapajós pelo bloco Traz os Montes.

A história do carnaval, música baiana e dos trios elétricos passam diretamente por Bell Marques. O artista foi um visionário dos empreendimentos do carnaval baiano. Durante mais de 30 anos esteve à frente do Chiclete com Banana vendeu mais de 8 milhões de discos e foi o primeiro artista a gravar um CD e DVD em cima de um trio elétrico com a Chiclete com Banana.

Poucos artistas conseguiram ser tão premiados como Bell Marque que em 2013 anunciou sua saída do Chiclete com Banana. A saída de Bell Marques foi marcada por polêmicas, pois, músicos entraram com ações trabalhistas contra a banda e se falava em falência do Chiclete com Banana.

O projeto de Bell Marques em carreira solo foi bem aceito pelo público e ele vendeu cerca de 300 mil cópias logo no primeiro lançamento.

O cantor é casado com Ana Marques e tem dois filhos com ela sendo eles Rafael e Filipe, que, inclusive formaram a banda Oito7nove4 que teria o nome mudado para Rafa & Pipo Marques. De um relacionamento anterior o cantor tem uma filha Rebeca Teixeira que tem duas filhas – netas de Bell Marques.

O cantor sempre teve como marca pessoal sua bandana e a barba longa. Em 2011 ele tirou a barba pela primeira vez, mas segue sempre usando sua bandana por onde se apresenta.
