Another thing that also helped popularize rock in the country was the trilogy of films of the genre directed and scripted by Lael Rodrigues (Bete Balanço, 1984, Rock Estrela, 1985, and Rádio Pirata, 1987). All three of these films were very successful, particularly among teenagers, and are notable for their soundtracks full of rock and New Wave bands and artists popular at the time, such as Celso Blues Boy, Lobão, Titãs, Barão Vermelho, RPM, Azul 29 , Dr. Silvana & Cia., Leo Jaime and Metrô, among others.

Concert halls were also created, such as Noites Cariocas and Circo Voador (Rio) and Aeroanta , Carbono 14, Lira Paulistana, Madame Satã and Napalm (São Paulo). Very important for the formation of the rock scene of the time.

The first bands to be successful were the São Paulo's Gang 90 and the Absurdettes , with the hit Perdidos na Selva (registered in the MPB Shell 81 festival) and led by journalist Júlio Barroso and the Cariocas da Blitz, formed around Circo Voador, becoming if a phenomenon through the success You Didn’t Know How to Love Me. There were also groups formed by experienced musicians, such as Radio Taxi, Herva Doce and singers Eduardo Dussek and Marina Lima, who had been standing out since the end of the previous decade, however, they started to flirt with rock from this period.

The most worshiped bands of the time form a Sacred Quartet. Among them are Os Paralamas do Sucesso, originally from Rio de Janeiro, they had met before in Brasilia and started playing in the garage of one of the members. The Titans from São Paulo, initially formed by nine members and influenced by the new wave and MPB. Cariocas from Barão Vermelho, born in 1982 and led by Cazuza and Roberto Frejat. As in Rio de Janeiro, influenced by soul and funk, Skowa and the Mafia appear and in Hard Rock, the band Taffo also stands out , led by guitarist Wander Taffo , with the presence of brothers Andria and Ivan Busic , future members of Dr. Sin.

In Brasília, Aborto Elétrico (in which Renato Russo played) generated Legião Urbana and Capital Inicial (which ended up settling in São Paulo). Other highlights coming from the Brazilian capital are the Plebe Rude with the successes Until When to Wait and Protection and groups that have become cult, such as Federal Detrito. Other groups that emerged during the period were Little Quail and The Mad Birds , formed by Gabriel Thomaz (guitar and vocals) Zé Ovo ( bass and vocals ) and Berma (drums, later replaced by Bacalhau), which featured a mix of punk rock and rockabilly and Raimundos, formed by Digão on drums and Rodolfo Abrantes on guitar. In Bahia, Camisa de Vênus, Marcelo Nova's band , reached success .

In Rio Grande do Sul, Engineers from Hawaii and None of Us reached national success. Lesser-known bands such as TNT, Taranatiriça , Cascavelletes , Os Replicantes, Bandaliera , Garotos da Rua and DeFalla also appeared .

In 1983, the band from São Paulo Spray signed with the record company Fermata and released their first album, a simple compact with the song Tic Tic Nervoso, which in the following year would burst on all national radio stations performed by the band Banda Magazine, led by Kid Vinil .

There were other groups that were marked by the great success they made at the time, such as the bands Semper Livre, Hanoi Hanoi , Metro, ZERØ, Heroes of the Resistance (led by Leoni, ex-Kid Abelha), False Picassos , Ones and Others, Egotrip , Dr. Silvana & Cia, Tokyo , group that revealed Supla and Hojerizah , the latter would be undone and in the 1990s, vocalist Toni Platão would start a solo career. Singers Kiko Zambianchi , Celso Blues Boy and Fausto Fawcett also emerged in the 1980s.

In 1984, the bands from Rio de Janeiro Dorsal Atlântica and Metalmorphose jointly released the album "Ultimatum Split", a split album that is considered the first thrash metal album by a Brazilian band. Before him, however, the Santos band Vulcano had already released a demo ("Om Pushne Namah ").

Taking advantage of the thrash metal wave in Brazil, the most successful Brazilian group, Sepultura, appears in Minas Gerais, with lyrics in English.
