A Tessitura do Conhecimento matemático

Resumo

Este trabalho apresenta uma nova alternativa no ensino de geometria, a fim de romper com a monotonia que, muitas vezes, circunstancia o cotidiano das aulas tradicionais, A proposta a apresentar, foi concebida tanto para a Educação Infantil como para os Anos Iniciais do Ensino Fundamental, porém, acredito que, tornar-se-á muito interessante também, nas demais séries do Ensino Médio . O patchwork quilt é uma arte milenar, que adquiriu função diversa em diversos contextos. Atualmente, vivemos uma mudança paradigmática, que se reflete também na educação. Sendo assim, e, embasada nas concepções de Vigostsky, Piaget, Wallon, Bruner, Winnicot, entre outros, cujas teorias referendam o lúdico no processo ensino-aprendizagem, e também em Habernas e Edgar Morin, venho propor a utilização do patchwork quilt como um recurso didático, utilizado no cotidiano das salas de aula, e que os alunos, através de dobraduras, de retalhos e remendos possam confeccionar lindos desenhos, construindo sua própria aprendizagem. Esta relação de costurar geometria ao patchwork é inovadora, posto que não há, literatura que trate do assunto, e, deu-se na ocasião da morte da minha mãe, que ao partir, deixou um legado de trabalhos, projetos e materiais. Vi nos quilts da minha mãe, a possibilidade de resgate de memória, de releitura de diversas obras de arte e um modo de despertar o interesse dos alunos para a geometria, além da possibilidade de desenvolver vários projetos interdisciplinares. Na tessitura do cotidiano escolar, venho dar meu retalho de contribuição. Mas as possibilidades são infindas. Quero, por tanto, convidar a todos a entrarem nas teias e fios do universo do patchwork e costurarem outros projetos, que com certeza virão. Os primeiros fios foram tecidos, mais ainda falta muito para nossa colcha terminar.

Abstract

This work seeks to present a new alternative in the teaching of geometry in order to break the monotony that, often, takes place in the traditional classes, stimulating as a result, a more significant interest for learning. At the beginning the proposal was conceived for Early Childhood Education as well as the Primary Years teaching, however, I believe that it will become much more interesting as it is extended to be used in the other grades. The patchwork quilt is a millenarian art that acquired several functions in several contexts. Nowadays, we are experiencing a pragmatic change that is also reflected in the education. The formation of a new profile for a new society is imperative. Further more, and based on the conceptions of Vigostsky, Piaget, Wallon, Bruner, Winnicot, among others, whose theories countersign the learning through play in the process of teaching-learning, and also in Habernas and Edgar Morim, I come to propose the use of the patchwork quilt as a didactic resource, where the students through folding of scraps and sewing, are able to make beautiful drawings observing the properties of the geometric concepts. This relationship of sewing patchwork geometry is unpublished, since there is not any literature related to this subject. This discovery took place in the occasion of my mother's death, an artist of the words, with magic hands that, at the occasion of her death left a legacy of works, projects and materials. I saw in my mother's quilts the possibility of rescuing memories. In re-reading several works of art, I realize that it could change the way geometry is seen by the students, as well as the possibility to develop several interdisciplinary projects. During this search of human knowledge I come to give my token contribution. But the possibilities are unlimited. Having said that, I want to invite you all to enter the webs and threads of the patchwork universe to sew other projects that certainly will come. The first threads were woven, but still a lot more work needs to be done for our quilt to finish.
