THE COPYRIGHT'S ATTACK!
How can a student screw its own reputation?
The German Minister of Defence, Karl Theodor zu Guttenberg, is probably regretting his awful idea of graduating. He might have completed his doctorate course using a not-inedit thesis, which constitutes plagiarism. The story is all related in http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-12504347. As a new, we mayn’t trust in its likelihood with blind eyes. Maybe Mr. zu Guttenberg, or “zu Googleberg”, as German press is badly mocking him isn’t guilty. This subject still can turn into a boring soap opera or an untasted North-American serie. And I also don’t want to talk about an unknown person to my country.
Many students in Brazil and around the world (it isn’t doubtful, is it?) have been forming themselves throught the plagiarism. Yeah, the aclaimed Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V, copying and foldering. Oh, the beloved Wikipedia! What would be that poor, “dedicated” and “hard-working” student without it? Let’s pray for Jimmy Wales, he rules! Everybody love the easier research conduct, the basic and soft information to don’ get speachless. Students who never had this behavior? They sucks!
Ok, I will talk serious. This is a huge education trouble. Wikipedia isn’t the trouble, sure, because the “Free Encyclopedia”, for me, is an awesome XXI-century idea. Now, people aren’t obligated to buy heavy and expensive books, which get dirty and old-fashioned in few years. But even the brilliant Wikipedia has useless, doubting and botched articles. A smart person could recognize them just by quickly reading. We may wonder a college professor... Some students pretends they’re intelligent and use the “holy” plagiarism. What? Have you thought something about Copyright? Do you really think they care about it? Should they? So, the “academic” project is done. The jerk student looks pretty happy, ‘cause he or she is a clever one and the teacher is just a dumb. He delivers his task, but before that, he had told to his colleagues about his academic research’s whereabouts. The teacher evaluates the final grade. Has our very-clever man had success? Hey, we’re supposed to know the end of this quest...
