Don't earn it

Prisons are overcrowded with inmates because of their misdeeds. And only one or two have been victims of bad luck. What can you do to avoid becoming a victim?

Although many people don't know the Bible or the Ten Commandments in full, most people know that stealing is a crime punishable by conviction and imprisonment, even if the theft or robbery is for hunger, but they still commit it. Others also know that they shouldn't carry a firearm, but they do. Others know that they shouldn't attempt to harm the integrity of others, but they try, and even end up taking or extinguishing the life of a fellow human being, because they were in possession of a weapon during a dispute between themselves and another.

According to a rule of human law, "it is forbidden for anyone to ignore the law". Thus, if there is a violation of human law, this can result in the conviction of the offender.

The same applies to God's law. He left his law as a rule for all humans. Ecclesiastes 12:13. But God is not doing condemnatory justice yet. So no one who breaks one of his laws, ten in number, is punished straight away. For he has appointed a day to judge with justice and with his righteousness, which is his law.

Thus, the very people who consider themselves God's violate some of his laws with the greatest of shame, thinking that this will be overlooked by him because, they claim, they ask him for forgiveness every day.

Well, I have to say that "whoever knows how to do 'good' and doesn't do it, commits sin". According to God, "good" is an adjective of his Law. That's why another biblical text says that "whoever has done 'good' will go out to eternal life, and whoever has done 'evil' will go out to eternal damnation.

The Holy Spirit says through James that if someone does not kill but commits adultery, he is a transgressor. And that "whoever keeps the whole law but stumbles in one point is guilty of all".

So whoever keeps the nine laws of the decalogue, but does not keep the ten, will also be condemned.

Says the Holy Spirit through Paul, "Who will harm you if you are zealous for good?".

Therefore, "let us do 'good' while we have the opportunity, because in due time we will reap, if we are not fainthearted". In other words, let's keep God's law without wavering so that we don't become guilty.
