Will you get into heaven or not?
Jesus said: "Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of God." Matthew 18:3.
The concept of conversion today is that you go to a religious institution and declare that you accept Jesus, or, in Judaism, that you follow the Jewish traditions laid down for followers of Judaism. But this is not the concept taught by God in the Holy Scriptures. For Peter said to the Jews of Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost, REPENT AND BE CONVERTED SO THAT YOUR SINS MAY BE WIPED OUT. So it's not just repentance that's necessary to obtain forgiveness of sins, but conversion too.
In fact, as we've already said in another article we wrote entitled "Repentance, conversion and baptism", the Holy Spirit says: "How shall a young man cleanse his way? By observing your Word. Psalm 119:9.
Furthermore, making a simple declaration does not accredit anyone to the kingdom of God. For, along with repentance, we need to become like a child. If this doesn't happen, Jesus said that "YOU SHALL NOT ENTER THE KINGDOM OF GOD". Mark 10:15.
Therefore repent and be converted, so that your sins may be wiped away. And conversion is through the Lord's reproof, which corresponds to His Law. Proverbs 1:23.
