Sinopse
Which theory would be better applied to explain language acquisition of children between birth and pre-school years? Human ability to learn languages is prone to exposure of languages since birth. Considering a recent born child has no inabilities to hear, it then becomes fundamental this contact with human spoken language to determine the acquisition of a language. After analyzing carefully the stages of acquiring a language, as Lighbrown and Spada (2006) explained about the development of a child in relation to language acquisition, it is possible to realize that the cognitive processes of a child’s cognitive development is totally connected to the understanding of acquiring languages.
