WHEN THE SUN COMES TO STAY

In the fall, one day, a hard cold floor I hit

and there I stayed.

One day, one hundred, many days...

laying there I stayed.

On the ice I saw my name

and all my colors fading in dismay.

I saw my soul drifting away.

A friend asked me once,

how he could make his tropical woman happy?

Keep her warm, I said!

Keep her body warm

keep her soul warm

keep her heart warm

keep her womanliness warm!

With your arms and hands

with your words and ways

with your self

with your love!

One day I looked up, facing the Sun,

and I felt the blanket of ice

melting away.
