The Husband - Part XI
In no time, the investigators came and went gathering all the evidences,
Caitlin was drinking chamomile tea in her kitchen table
trying to calm herself down, away from all the commotion.
Asking herself time and time again, what on earth is going on?
Meanwhile, Detective Chris Rouse and Officer Daniel Martinez
were storming each other ideas.
“So what do you think?” Chris asked Daniel.
“I have no idea.” Daniel answered pacing the hallway, going to one room and to another.
And finally he mentioned: “You know, maybe Bryan Moore had a persisted enemy… who’s not afraid to be caught. The only thing that I don’t understand is why he or she wants to kill Mrs. Moore? And besides that, why not search the place from the top to the button when he was killing Bryan and not after.”
“Good observation. Maybe he didn’t get the chance to do so.” Chris answered looking down and stoking his chin.
“Or maybe someone else where here with him. Caught him in the act, and he got scared and ran away before the police came.” Daniel couldn’t help smiling, is not that often that an officer would contribute ideas with a detective.
“By the way detective, I have someone who came yesterday afternoon looking for his wife.” Daniel mentioned.
“Oh, really!” Chris was impressed, showing anticipation toward of what might come.
Daniel took his dark blue notebook and started to read information to Chris. “Yep, Mr. Marcos Rossini. He said that his wife Silvia Rossini disappeared two weeks ago. And by her description, is the same as the corpse that you have found in the hills.”
“Two weeks?” Chris asked, looking puzzled.
“I know it seems a long time to report someone missing. But Mr. Rossini mentioned that he’s used to have her disappear for days to a week. And detective it has been more than a week. So now Mr. Rossini is worry.”
“Just now. Oh well. Did you find out about his alibi?”
“He said that he was working at Millville Bank, putting overtime this entire month.”
“Interesting! I’ll meet you back in the office; I need to have couple of words with Mrs. Moore. Making sure she’s all right.” Chris gave his final word.
“All right, chief.” Closing his notebook, putting it back in his left side pocket, Daniel left the room.
