Always Remember Us This Way and the boy Chiquinho

 

 

 

That early day, the boy Chiquinho, 14 (fourteen) years old, resident in the village of Matapasto, in the town of Timon, State of Maranhão, goes out in search of babassu coconut, to break and sell several kilos in the city. His mother, Dona Conceição, reminds her son to break a lot of babassu almonds, because of the payment of the electricity bill that is due on Friday and the other bill already due, to pay to avoid cutting with the suspension of electricity.

 

On that day, Chiquinho opens the bag and takes out the old battery-powered radio in the middle of the capoeirão. When calling the Reggae Station, the boy hears the announcement:

Thursday night, Chiquinho goes to his best friend's house, who goes by the name Claudio.
